SFaB, Lyon, Multiplier Event, 6&12 July 2022

During the summer, INTERPROFESSIONNELLE AUVERGNE RHONE ALPES (IPRA MEDEF) organised two multiplier events that took place in Lyon, France.

The first Multiplier event was a hybrid one that took place on the 6th of July 2022, focusing on Family Business governance, succession, and the social and emotional factors of running family businesses. The second one took place on the 12th of September 2022 and explored a territorial diagnosis of family businesses in the Auvergne-Rhone- Alpes region, their needs and characteristics. This was followed by a discussion on transmission and guaranteeing the sustainability of the business for future generations.

The IPRA MEDEF team’s main aim was to present and promote the SFaB Project to each kind of stakeholder involved in family business issues: Shareholders, CEOs, managers, consultants, and academics. Moreover, participants were handed useful information for their professional activities (consultants, managers).

Additionally, at the multiplier events, experts on the field had a chance to share their accumulated knowledge and experience on important subjects for family businesses.

A community was also developed by IPRA MEDEF. This community would be consulted throughout the project and recruited for different project needs (Expert Group of Advisors, Focus Groups, pilot learners, and associated partners). For this purpose, the IPRA MEDEF tram decided to organise two different Multiplier Events, which included a presentation of the project, interventions of experts recognised as specialists in family business issues and times for discussion between participants.

Overall, the two events were crowned with success, as indicated by the feedback and the comments received afterwards by the participants who expressed their willingness to get involved in the next steps of the project.
